The first trailer for Nicalis’s Night Game is out, and we find ourselves utterly charmed. The sleepy-time color scheme and sedate music gives the game a mellow feel that should make it relaxing even if the puzzles prove challenging — sort of like Soul Bubbles, which is a nice thing to say about a game.
Night Game appears to be a platformer starring a rolling ball, which, we’re guessing, is controlled by tilting the Wiimote. It’s a simple concept, but even the amount of variation in the objects seen here with which to interact — hanging chains, see-saws, wagons, etc. — combined with whatever the ball controls are should make for an interesting experience. Especially at a WiiWare price!
PopCap Games has just unleashed a new trailer for the ultimate Peggle experience, Peggle: Dual Shot. In this version, players can enjoy 120 levels and 90 challenges, as well as the unique Peggle Zoom feature. There’s also an all-new bonus underground and multiplayer duels, should that tickle your fancy. We can’t be the only ones dying to play this, right?
Peggle: Dual Shot releases for the Nintendo DS on March 3.
Fujisoft’s Minna no Theater Wii (Everybody’s Theater Wii), essentially a video rental service, will launch on January 27 in Japan, after slipping from its original December release date. We already knew that purchasing the video viewer cost 500 Wii Points, but now we have concrete prices for renting content:
A single title for two days: 300 Wii Points
Two titles for three days: 600 Wii Points
Three titles for five days: 800 Wii Points
When it launches next month, 3,000 pieces of video content will be available. These span 150 franchises, including Astro Boy, Transformers, Hajime no Ippo, and Dogtanian. Anime currently dominates the line-up, though movies, drama, and educational shows will also be present, if a bit scarcer.
A further 50 pieces of content will be released every month following the launch, and Fujisoft claims its content comes “close” to delivering DVD quality. It’s just a shame we’ll probably never see this here to test that statement.
I’m really having a lot of fun playing Cabal Online. For some reason, I’m drawn to the game. I know it’s not the community because, well, it’s your typical Pinoy online gaming community filled with all sorts of immaturity and elitism and I’m sure it’s not the publisher because I’m not a big fan of […]
The publisher of Cabal Online in the Philippines, e-Games, recently launched a Video Making Contest for Cabal Online (read the details here) and since I love to take screenshots and videos of my characters in-game I decided to make one for the contest.
The video I created is all about my in-game character, Kabalyero. It’s almost […]
Today, I spent a few minutes at The Roman Empire region in Second Life to take a few video clips of the on-going Gladiator Fights. I used the video clips I took of the fight to create a simple music video which I then submitted to Koinup as an entry to their 1st. Second Life Music Videos Contest.
Well, the video featured the Gladiators of Rome and the on-going Gladiator Fights. I also took clips of the Cage Match but the cage didn’t fully rezzed which caused it to look really terrible so I didn’t put that in the video.
I hope I got the names right, the Gladiators are:
Lurgan Ling
Sky McCallen
Insane Blackburn
Murriadoc Alter
Oki Dufaux
And of course, The Emperor of Rome, Enrich Halasy is also in the Video. If I forgot to include anyone just please send me a quick note and I will add it.
The amazing music and song used in the video is called “Bring It” by Jax Streeter. Visit his website to hear more of his music at JaxStreeter.com.
Yesterday, I converted 3 of my videos to .MOV and uploaded them to blip.tv. Blip.tv is very much like YouTube except that blip.tv provides a direct link to the uploaded video in its actual format…

Tomb Raider: Anniversary is out now for download via the Xbox 360 Live Marketplace, butyou can only get it if you already own Tomb Raider: Legend on disc, since the downloads act as additional episodes; Although it’s the entire Tomb Raider: Anniversary game, just split up into four downloads (the initial level of which is downloadable for free, btw).
This makes Tomb Raider: Anniversary the first full-retail game to be available for download over Xbox Live (although the audience is limited obviously).
This is in addition to all the other ways you can get the game, which is available as a standalone Xbox 360 title that you can buy on store shelves (but hey, now you don’t even have to get up off your couch to play it!) as well as on the PC, Playstation 2, Playstation Portable, Nintendo Wii and you can download Tomb Raider: Anniversary via Valve’s Steam service (although Europe is excluded).
If you’ve never heard of the game, it is a remake of the original Tomb Raider but using the engine (which includes updated graphics, effect, physics and control) from the extremely successful Lara Croft revival, Tomb Raider Legend. And since it is a remake of a very, very old and archaic game, many changes were made to update it to a modern experience and to make-up for all of Lara’s new moves and abilities that weren’t available in the original game. But all the same worlds and the feel of the original game is largely intact. Making it a great place to get acquainted with the video game icon Lara Croft if you never played the original.
Here is a trailer for the Xbox Live version of the game (which oddly enough doesn’t say anything about you having to own Tomb Raider: Legend on disc in order to download it).
This is an exclusive sneak peek at a Sci-Fi Channel documentary about the new Xbox 360-exclusive game Mass Effect that was released worldwide last week.
The program features interviews with the developers at BioWare, game-industry insiders, science & technology experts, and a mix of celebrities, actors & athletes who all have a lot to say about how science & technology meet art & fiction in this epic new story.
The complete 30-minute documentary has already aired on the Sci-Fi Channel, so hopefully it will be made available as a free download on Xbox Live Marketplace in the near future. — Thanks to Joe for sending this in.
