Renegade Kid (the developers behind the M-rated Nintendo DS hit Dementium: The Ward . . . well let’s all hope it’s a hit!), which came out yesterday on Halloween in North America, has announced just a day later that their next game, right now called “Project M”, will be published not by Gamec0ck Media Group like their last game, but by publisher Mastiff.
Not a lot of details are known about “Project M”, including why it’s named exactly that, but what is known is that it will use the same 3D engine as Dementium, it IS coming to the Nintendo DS, and it will most likely be another M-rated game for the platform. Which is always a good thing.
Dementium: The Wardis shaping up to be a very cool Silent Hill-esque horror game for the Nintendo DS. The game plays very similar to other survival horror titles that we’ve seen, but uses the DS unique features, including touch-screen support for puzzles (and you can bet this will include writing and note-taking to some degree), the duel screens and I wouldn’t be surprised if it even used the microphone in unique ways ala The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
Dementium: The Ward tells the tale of a man who awakens to find himself alone in a mysterious, derelict hospital that is frozen in time. Confronted by the deadly, grotesque surgical experiments that wander the halls, a series of challenging puzzles and a cast of peculiar characters, he must face his deepest fears, unlock the mysteries of the hospital, and escape with his life.
The game uses a 3D engine with a flashlight that lights the environment up in real-time for unparalleled graphics on the little machine. And unlike Silent Hill, Dementium: The Ward is seen from the first-person perspective.
