June 30th, 2008 by Kabalyero

When I first tried Second Life, I didn’t quite get it and left it the same day but the second time I tried it I finally did maybe because I was better informed and got the chance to learn more about it. As I explore this virtual world I learned a lot about it and […]

Another Week in Europe

June 28th, 2008 by Chris Greenhough

Even though Wii Fit continues to be as common as chicken teeth everywhere, Nintendo finally seems to be sorting out its Mario Kart Wii stock issues in Europe. After dipping in recent weeks, the racer (which nearly made this blogger sob with frustration at our last Game Night) has risen in Ireland, Holland, and the UK. Wii Play had a fine few days, sensationally nabbing second spot in Britain, while Sports Island is raking in the euros in the Netherlands. Those crazy Dutch.

Not much on the horizon next week, except for some beat-’em-up. Super Crash Bros. Fighter, or something. We forget. Charts follow the break, folks.

Suggestions for catering a Wii party

June 28th, 2008 by JC Fletcher

Filed under:

A nice side effect of the Wii’s expansion of the gaming audience is that people with skills and interests outside of video games have begun applying their expertise to our hobby. In this case, it means good food for once instead of the normal junk that fuels the stereotypical gaming lifestyle.

Chow.com has posted a list of delicious-looking recipes that is, in their estimation, ideal for Wii parties in two ways:

  1. It can all be eaten one-handed, leaving a free (or at least clean) waggling hand
  2. They’re organized into nutritional groups designed to sustain lots of energy over time

We’ve got the Wii, and now we’ve got the menu. Next step: friends!

Nancy Drew finds clues on the Wii

June 26th, 2008 by Candace Savino

Filed under:

The fact that three PC-to-Wii adventure games were announced in one week is nothing short of crazy, but as adventure game junkies, we won’t complain. The more that come along, the more likely at least one will be good and sate our thirst for point-and-click, right? Right?

This time Nancy Drew will be sleuthing her way onto the Wii in a port of The White Wolf of Icicle Creek. The same developer that handled the PC version (Her Interactive) will be porting this one, unlike the DS games which were made by Gorilla Systems. While the original didn’t blow anyone’s socks off their feet, it did get respectable reviews. Let’s just hope for some refined point-and-click goodness with the Wiimote, and we should be all set.

Tales of Symphonia videos pretty much show off the entire game

June 26th, 2008 by David Hinkle

The above video is the opening cinematic to Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Considering that’s what video we started off with in this very post, you can safely assume that there will be more videos, full of spoilers. Sure, all the text is in Japanese, but we’re sure at least one thing will be spoiled for you, should you watch them. So, before you head past the break, keep that in mind.

Manhunt 2 in the UK: Rockstar knows nothing about it

June 25th, 2008 by Chris Greenhough

Filed under:

A lengthy, to-and-fro legal battle between the BBFC and Rockstar prevented Manhunt 2 from being released in the UK, with the BBFC eventually giving up and granting the game an “18″ certificate in March. Having won its right to lop limbs clean off be released in Britain, it was no surprise that the title appeared in Nintendo’s latest European release schedule this morning.

But wait, for there’s another twist to this twistiest of sagas! A Rockstar spokesperson contacted Eurogamer earlier today to reveal that it “has no confirmed release date set for Manhunt 2 in Europe.” Ho boy. If any Europeans out there are beginning to feel particularly indifferent about Manhunt 2 at this stage, we can’t say we blame you.

Wimbledon in SL, A Quick Look

June 24th, 2008 by Kabalyero

I’ve seen Wrestling Rings, Boxing Rings, Ancient Coliseums, Combat Arenas, Basketball Courts, and other sporting locations but this time I took a quick look at IBM’s Winbledon Tennis Court in Second Life.

What can I say? IBM did an amazing job at it. The tennis court looks amazingly real and it even has two dummy players […]

Capped @ Level 100

June 23rd, 2008 by Kabalyero

e-Games Philippines capped the level limit of Cabal Online Philippines to 100 and capped the skills limit to G. Master. A few days ago, I finally reached that limit. My main character is now level 100 with G. Master Sword Skills and a Master in Magic.

(Weak and Noob! So, please be kind to him!)
It was […]
