Rom Ireton Is Back!

January 31st, 2008 by Kabalyero

This is an update to my account being suspended for disturbing the peace. Just a few hours ago, after clarifying with Linden Labs Support Team, my account was reactivated. This morning, I received an e-mail from them informing me that my account has been reactivated.

Your account has been reactivated…

…You should be able to log in using the password that the account was set up with. If you do have problems with the password you can reset it by going to the Second Life website.

I would like to thank Linden Labs Support Team for their quick and prompt response and for the immediate resolution of my account’s issue.

Camping And Free Hair

January 31st, 2008 by Kabalyero

I’ve already posted this before the defacement of this blog but since it was lost after the restoration and I can’t find any cached version of the original post, I have no choice but to rewrite and repost it. As I have previously posted, I went to get a copy of The SL News Stand which was supposed to be at EDGEWATER SHOPPING CENTER MALL at ASI Seychelles region but when I got there, the kiosk that was supposed to give copies of The SL News Stand was nowhere to be found. Instead, I found two camping benches near the landmark beacon and inside the shop where the benches were located was a free hair for women. (more…)

Not My Lucky Day :(

January 31st, 2008 by Kabalyero

Wow! After this blog was defaced by some people you’d think everything will be fine afterwards, right? NOOOOO!!! Today, I received an e-mail from Linden Labs informing me that my Rom Ireton account was suspended for disturbing the peace at LiaisonLand.

“The violation in question occurred on January 30, 2008 in the region of LiaisonLand.”

  • Funny Royal Rumble 2008 Moment

I was able to watch the entire 2008 Royal Rumble yesterday and no I’m not talking about the Jimmy Snuka/Roddy Piper thing. I’m referring to the Y2J and JBL’s match where Y2J missed a move but JBL still went down hard on the canvass.

HodgePodge Mag’s Avatars Who Care

January 30th, 2008 by Kabalyero

The latest issue of HodgePodge Magazine is out and in this issue there is a section titled “Avatars Who Care”. I blogged about it last November, 2007 and I kinda read it the wrong way too. LOL!

HodgePodge Isue 4A brief info of what “Avatars Who Care” is, it’s about recognizing those avatars who had contributed to some extent in various fields like business, fashion, arts, etc. It’s supposed to be published in the December issue of HodgePodge but it was moved to January. Anyway, I was at my place when I noticed that the vendor Isadora sent through the Filipino group wasn’t working. Checking past group notices, I found out that she sent a working replacement so, I took that and replaced the non-working vendor. Of course, I took a copy and besides it’s FREE! By the way, you read a Second Life magazine by wearing it. It will attach as a HUD and you browse the pages by clicking on it. (more…)

Ouch! Kabalyero.com Defaced!

January 30th, 2008 by Kabalyero

Just a few hours ago, I was shocked to find this blog defaced by some people. I immediately informed BlueHost about it and they immediately restored my entire account to a previous backup. Yes, the restoration process made me lose a few post in some of my blogs but I guess that was the best way to correct what has been done to the blog.

BlueHost advised me to update my scripts and change my passwords which I did after the restoration. The restoration took only a few minutes. (more…)

Wiimote genius Johnny Chung Lee interviewed

January 28th, 2008 by JC Fletcher

We’ve all stared slack-jawed at the amazing stuff Johnny Chung Lee can make the Wiimote do, from Minority Report-style interfaces to a virtual whiteboard. Now ActionTrip has interviewed the man behind the fingertips.

Is anyone surprised that he is a graduate student in the field of human-computer interaction? It certainly explains a lot, like why he can do what he can do and we … can’t. He said that the ideas for his various interface tweaks were all generated during one furiously creative plane trip: “I decided to sit down and hammer out as many concepts that I think could potentially be done using the components within the Wii remote. The key was to think just about the components and not as a whole device.”

While he obviously has affection for video games, Lee doesn’t have any particular desire to parlay his Wiimote wizardry into a career making games. He says that “I like doing interaction research and only some of my work is relevant to gaming,” but we know that he just doesn’t want to embarrass Nintendo too much by outclassing them.

Crochet Mario has a nemesis

January 28th, 2008 by Chris Greenhough

Filed under:

The biggest threat facing Crochet Mario on his adventures? Why, that would be Crochet Piranha, lurking silently in its Crochet Green Pipe, waiting for the right moment to emerge, bow its head, and release fiery balls of death.

This Piranha Plant is the work of Etsy user michellerheaume, the same crocheter (yes, we had to check that) behind Crochet Mario. At $80, it’s a little more affordable than Mario, and arguably even more desirable. Nevertheless, it’s still going to take a little more to impress us from now on. Like an entire troupe of crocheted Goombas and Koopas. That is sent to us.

The Spartan Empire’s Mythology

January 26th, 2008 by Kabalyero

Previously, I mentioned at Sparta @ The Spartan Empire that the sim, The Spartan Empire, is home to both Sparta and Mythology, right? Well, now we will take a look at Mythology.

Mythology is the other half of The Spartan Empire. I’m not so sure to what mythology the place was based on but I guess it’s safe to assume that it was based on Greek Mythology and just like Sparta and The Roman Empire, the landing point is just near the Market area. I use the term market to describe the location because there weren’t any malls back in those times. The market area of mythology is much smaller than Sparta and The Roman Empire. There is also a dead tree at the center of it. I wonder what’s that for?
